Work Experience

Tax Technology Lead | Deliveroo (DoorDash), UK

Jun 2022 – Mar 2026

Owned the tax technology roadmap and end-to-end technical delivery across EU, UK, and Middle East markets within Financial Systems. Identified tax department needs, triaged and prioritised projects above and below the line to secure funding and engineering resources across digital compliance, regulatory reporting, e-invoicing, and tax automation.

Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Developed the tax technology roadmap for the Global Tax function, covering direct tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, and tax accounting compliance and reporting. Assessed departmental needs, defined project scope, and built the business case to secure budget and resources.
  • Designed the master e-invoicing infrastructure and workflow across various regions: ran the full vendor RFP, evaluated and selected the provider, and designed the centralised orchestrator architecture integrating NetSuite, Coupa, and Peppol networks.
  • Conducted Tax Engine Market Analysis, a landscape review of tax determination engines and digital reporting vendors to inform the multi-year technology strategy.
  • Authored Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) per country, RAID logs, and penalty exposure models (quantified €500k+ risk in Italy alone) to drive prioritisation and investment decisions.

Data Pipelines, Integration & Automation

  • Defined canonical data definitions for invoice and statement fields; designed data pipelines joining NetSuite and Snowflake sources with de-duplication and reconciliation logic.
  • Managed complex tax and finance technology projects, overseeing data sourcing, ingestion, and integration with existing financial systems (NetSuite, Snowflake).
  • Drove automation initiatives: Treasury payment data extraction, MSF journal posting, NetSuite expense deductibility matrix, reducing manual effort and improving reporting accuracy.
  • Built AI-powered menu item VAT classification prototype for automated tax categorisation at item level.

Tax Regulatory Reporting & Compliance Systems

  • Owned end-to-end design and delivery of tax regulatory reporting projects including DAC7 platform reporting, rider annual tax returns, and partner earnings reports, covering data collection, validation rules, filing orchestration, and report generation across multiple jurisdictions. Authored go-live memos, exception monitoring frameworks, and optimisation strategies.
  • Owned the partner-facing invoicing product on Partner Hub. Created Project BITE to address external customer pain points around tax invoices, conducted client workshops, prioritised the feature backlog, and shipped improvements to tax invoices and payment statements.
  • Built internal Tax Self-Service tooling to enable operations teams to resolve tax reporting lookups and invoice queries without engineering support.

Cross-Functional Technical Leadership

  • Managed senior stakeholders across Legal, Finance, Commercial, Rider Services, and Engineering, coordinating 15+ cross-functional workstreams to deliver regulatory programmes on deadline.
  • Authored PRDs and reviewed technical design documents across direct tax, indirect tax, and international tax requirements, with staged workflows and shared measurement plans for engineering hand-off.
